To become part of the SMART Local 26 team, applicants must meet the following basic requirements:
If you are new to the sheet metal industry and would like to become an apprentice, our program offers paid on-the-job training while you learn a rewarding career.
Starting apprentices earn over $38.60 per hour in total compensation, which includes family health insurance, a 401(k) savings plan, and an international pension.
If you have prior experience in sheet metal or HVAC, you must provide proof of employment. Acceptable documentation includes W-2 forms, pay stubs, or a Social Security earnings statement. Resumes are not accepted as proof of prior employment.
